ChargeSINI

Introduction

ChargeSINI is committed to providing public and private sectors by establishing a secure and dependable EV charging network. Our cutting-edge software solutions pave the way for companies to enter the EV charging market and launch innovative new business models. Our mission is to create a scalable EV charging infrastructure which will make it possible for businesses to rapidly expand their networks of charging stations throughout Malaysia and beyond. Ultimately resolving the shortage of AC & DC charging and the following range anxiety felt by EV owners.

Problem Statement

As more and more EVs hit the road in Malaysia. There are growing public and private sector investments in electric vehicle charging infrastructure. After the success of the Caricarz project, our client is ambitious to take their business to the next level by implementing the EV charging solution to the public that provides simplicity to all EV drivers, with the least effort, just "Locate", "Charge", and "Pay". Their main problem is a lack of technical expertise in software and hardware solutions for constructing an EV charging infrastructure.

Challenges

One of the difficulties we face is designing adaptive UI and UX that is able to cover numerous error-preventative measures such as hardware malfunction. Assist users in recognizing, diagnosing, and recovering from the app and unexpected on-the-spot charging process-related difficulties.

Due to software and hardware constraints, we tackle the issue with seriousness. We hand-tuned the charger with the help of a hardware technician and go through comprehensive user and software testing to rule out any potential problems during real-world operation.

Integrating dynamic load management and OCPP is complex. Different areas, including residential structures, industrial sites, and commercial properties, have different grid connections and power capacity limitations. When multiple vehicles are simultaneously charging, we need to ensure that the power is distributed evenly across all active chargers.

Due to the incompatibility of parking lock hardware from third parties, integrating the various models of parking lock devices into our EV system has proven challenging. However, with the collaboration of our business partner's EV charger specialist, we were able to resolve this issue by configuring the charger to achieve our specific requirements.

Takes time to solve multiple types of chargers (AC, DC) compatibility issues. Customize chargers to support the requirement of different charger manufacturers to integrate networks.

Solution

Before we began designing the user app UI and merchant site, we conducted research on local & international EV apps e.g. ChargEV, JomCharge, PlugShare, etc. Through this, we came up with a plausible notion for app features that aligned with the market demand. In the meantime, our dev team start to work closely with the design team to develop web and app interfaces.

In the development of CPO, we had to collaborate with an EV charger installation specialist to assist us with the hardware compatibility issue with the software. This collaboration allowed us to develop an innovative EV charging app and an all-in-one EV charging infrastructure.

As our client's tech solution partner, we leveraged our excellent expertise to complete the EV charging business ecosystem. We had helped ChargeSini develop a web & mobile app, an all-in-one backend CPO solution, an OCPP-compliant charger, API integrations to ERP/CRM, dynamic load management, tariff & payment. Furthermore, we also ensure a good user experience by implementing more automation features such as Plug and Play, auto calculation and flexible compatibility.

In a recent update, not only we enhanced and optimized ChargeSini public charging feature. We also help to develop new features such as home charger monitoring and rent service (co-share) for your own EV charger at your home just by linking the charger with a ChargeSini app.
